Two Steve's hard at work - one selling eggs, the other selling houses! Both are well dressed for their respective roles! Would you buy from either of these Lions?

Alistair Murray, 3rd from left, and Nick Parr, 1st on right with their sponsors Roger Eastty & Mike Peake, while President Verdun does the honours! Verdun ensuring Nick's Lions badge is pinned on correctly. As children most of us played a similar game but we were blindfolded and had to pin on a tail instead.
Chilli Bob celebrating with Roger, who won the taste test by producing the best home cooked chilli on the night. By the way Tony Key came a very commendable 2nd place with his vegetarian chilli, while Fozzie got 3rd place. John Horsfall came in 4th; Ian Edwards scraped in at 5th place, while poor Graham C, our Blog Master, only managed to come last. Well someone had to! Chilli Bob & his son with El Presidento & a huge selection of their home grown chilli sauces. Verdun by the way is holding a plate of ice cream to cool his palate after tasting some of the sauces!
District 105E Convention with our Environmental Officer Keith, and look who got a certificate!24/3/2019 Keith's really taller than than he looks here! The bubble speak is working well. Way to go, Keith! Guess who's going to be fined at our next business meeting?
Must have had too much to drink as they all look a little blurred! Steve is in the middle with our President, Verdun, on his right (our left) and his sponsor, Steve, on his left (our right)! Got it! That's better! now they're looking sharper - must be the effect of the beer, although I think Steve is in need of another pint!
Excellent Charter Night at West Notts (Saturday March 9th). Great Indian food and entertainment although speeches a bit long. 3 bottles of wine, Dancers and a Curry - Steve's in heaven!! Roger and Pauline on a messy table at West Notts 25th Charter. Some cool Bollywood moves by Riemie Kath and Evie - look in the background and Steve's throwing a few shapes This is definitely one for the archive - Roger throwing caution to the wind next to Steve Scarle - nothing embarrassing about this at all???? Slightly disturbing - its great to see that Southwell Lions show the decorum and restraint expected when we are representing the club!!! Not sure that this needs any comment. Enjoyed so much that we are going to organise a Bollywood night later in the year - so be prepared
(CAPTION COMPETITION) Southwell Community Archeaology Group talk to members on 26 Feb 201927/2/2019 Right then - it's over to you! Please provide a caption for this photo of our President, Verdun, as he's about to take hold of a medieval Green Glaze Pot from c.1200 found on the Burgage as part of a community dig!
Here are the suggestions received so far:- 1. It was broken before I touched it, honest! 2. If you rub it here it grows bigger. 3. Help! I can't get away from the old relics. 4.That's about the only trophy Wales will win this year. 5. Spot the crackpot! 6. No wonder I need a hip replacement. 7. You stood on my bloody foot! So there we were trying to get a decent photo of Roger presenting the Bob Eastty Memorial Trophy to David Salmon of the Sherwood Archers swim team for coming top in sponsorship in our 2018 Swimathon, and someone's keeps getting their head in the way! Guess who?
Just 4 of the many Lions who did a sterling job on Saturday 26th Jan. Thanks a lot to Bob for organising it all and well worth while it was. There were 72 patients who were tested, 25 males and 47 women. 32 people were found to be of High or Very High risk and I'm sure were grateful for the early diagnosis. Might well hold another event later in the year.
Well at least the chairs are facing the right way! All we need now are some people! The 'Man in Charge' giving last minute instructions on how to perform the 12 Days of Christmas. Nice to see a lot of people turned up! Paul caught on camera as he tries to capture the elusive Elvis!
