December 2019 Update

Westgate Group Party. Monday 2nd December.
Another enjoyable evening was had by all, with a great spread of food provided by Rama from the Reindeer Inn in Southwell.  Santa and his friendly Lion were on hand to give everyone presents and then to lead the Carol Singing.  We also had a solo piano performance by Rama's daughter.  And some old Lion friends turned up to help out. Steve & Richard also did a great job keeping the drinks flowing from the bar.

Today the Southwell & District Lions hosted a Christmas party the town’s senior citizens in the Methodist Church. The party was attended over 30 senior citizens who appeared to have a good time. Entertainment was provided the Oakie Dokies (part of the Major Oak Chorus) who sang many well know songs and of course lots of Christmas Carols which went down well with the audience. The party finished with the Lions leading, with a little help from the Oakie Dokies, a chorus of Christmas Carols.

October 2019 Update
Southwell & District Lions Join in Southwell Litter Pick. Eight Lions and 2 partners joined with other Southwell residents to help keep the town clean and tidy in a Litter Pick, organised by Green Southwell, on 12 October. While some complimented Southwell residents on how clean some parts of the town were, others returned with bags full of bottles, cans, food cartons and other assorted rubbish. Certain areas frequented by the younger members of our community were particularly affected by litter, a sad indictment.
