UPDATE: 4th December 2019 was finals day for #ROAR2019 for 105CE. This programme run with #7billionideas engages primary schools to enter a competition to design, and display ideas focused on saving the environment. This year we had 20 schools enter the finals at Ramgarhia Sabha Nottingham, a Sikh Gurdwara (Temple) that hosts and provides refreshments for the contestants. 7billionideas manage the programme and Lions sponsor the schools.
On the left the 2nd placed team from Bleasby school in their second final, with their ‘Homeless Backpack’ and best stall award.
On the right the 3rd placed team from Lowes Wong School, on their first attempt, with their ‘Dry-Abrella’, both sponsored by Southwell and District Lions Club.
On 18 October 2019 Southwell & District Lions Club President Peter Brooker announced the ROAR winners at Lowe's Wong Junior School on . From almost 50 entries, 2 were chosen to go through to the next round: a fully eco- friendly home energy recycling house and a 'dry-brella', which senses rain and automatically drops a protective sheet around the washing to keep it dry. Fingers crossed for a winner, well done to all.
