Graham playing with style and panache - once he found the right ball. Graham bowled so well all evening- shame this video didn't capture him at his best! So close ...and yet so far! In the gutter again! Never mind Peter, better luck next time! This was the moment Paul captured Graham needing a strike to have any chance of catching up with the top score of 172. It just wasn't to be! But Paul enjoyed the moment...

Probably a record turnout for a club business meeting, Steve must have been offering free beer! Although some still don't know what 'face the camera means!. That's better. Barry's a bit slow getting there - a bit like eating his breakfasts!
Just one more night to go!
Meanwhile here is Santa and 3 of his elves street collecting on Saturday outside the Rodney. Looks like Santa's beard has been sprayed on with shaving foam, while Keith seems to have just climbed off a reindeer! Tony's reactolite glasses think the sun is shining when it clearly isn't! While our very own "Ride the clutch" Bob (ask Iris) is just pleased to no longer be standing on the old market square on his own like Billy no mates! First night out on the float and we all got completely soaked (by the rain that is!). We still managed to improve on the previous year's take for the same route; people must have felt sorry for us! At the end of the route we did however receive some great hospitality from our friends in Rolleston, who let us dry out in their kitchen while we warmed our insides with mulled wine, whiskey, brandy, sausage rolls and mince pies. Fozzie looks like he's lost some weight! Must be all that walking. While Grahame is recovering by seeing how many mince pies he can down in one go! A little more imbibing was done while we counted up at the Reindeer afterwards. Although I understand the notes had to be dried out by Barry before banking them the next day. Looks like Roger's falling asleeep counting the pennies!
Question: Who am I? Answer: The name badge is a clue! Question: What am I doing wearing a sash? Answer: It's a beauty pageant and you've just come last! ...actually it's a Mr Universe competition!
Marion thought he scrubbed up well in the suit - shame it's only on loan from Moss Bros. Here's Graham, doing the honours, explaining to John that the present isn't just a lump of concrete (although it is) and that he might find a suitable place to put it as a reminder of his time as a Lion! Any suggestions on a postcard to John please. John at least seemed happy enough, although I think he had been hoping for something 40% proof! Mein Host, Steve, then proceeded to explain the rules of the music quiz, but no one was listening... A surprise 'celebrity' singer then put us through our paces with a rendition of old songs. I never knew John Craven could sing! (Steve is seen here playing at least 2 of the 12 strings on his guitar, while it 'gently weeped.' A full house and a very enjoyable evening. Well done to Steve and Steve for putting it all together for us. Looks like Steve will now have a solo spot at the Seniors' Christmas concert & afternoon tea.
Lovely start to the 5 mile walk to Thurgarton. Our leader, Ian E, on the left. All of us enjoying a bit of shade. We finally made it & got our well deserved supper! At least 'yours truly' plate was clean! A few of us on the bus going home. It must be past Pauline's bedtime, I think!
Annika putting together a display of Lions work at the entrance to Farnstock. Good job, Annika! Not to be outdone, Keith has stuck some wristbands onto the edge of a table! Doesn't he know they won't come off and should be put on people's wrists? Still he looks happy enough. Looks like Bob's trying to restore Annika's handiwork, or is he just having a rest? Beautiful sunny morning - all ready to go, just waiting for the punters to turn up! Steve was in trouble and told to sit on the 'naughty' chair! The heavy rain showers were not going to dampen this child's enthusiasm and fun!
