Santa and his helpers have been watching past issues of Joe Wicks’ keep fit videos to get into shape for the visits to your area. We are, therefore, delighted that Newark and Sherwood District Council have approved our Santa sleigh plans for Santa and some of his helpers to be out and about in Southwell and the surrounding villages for 10 nights before Christmas. Of course, we’ve had to make changes to the Santa visits and we can’t be sure how this will affect our timetable, so do bear with us if it doesn’t go exactly to plan.
The rule of 6 and the Tier 3 rules mean that we’ll only have half our usual band of volunteers out each night; consequently, we won’t be knocking on doors and are reliant on residents to come out to say hello on hearing the music. Santa will stop to have chat, but we’ll all keep our distance for everyone’s safety and do our utmost to ensure that we maintain the rule of 6 even with parents and grandparents etc. We might discover after the first couple of nights that we need to adjust the times. We’ll update our website and Facebook pages, as soon as we can, with any further information or last minute changes.
Unfortunately, we’ve had to miss out some areas due to the logistics. We’ll make up for it in 2021.
